We were most excited to try out Turkish towels, a trendy alternative to terrycloth that’s maybe just as absorbent. If fluffiness is your thing, these definitely aren’t for you, but we’re really happy with them. These are the towels we currently have, and we’ll definitely be getting two more to round out our set.
Like we mentioned, The Bali Market has fantastic marketing copy, and that’s what really convinced us to take the leap. Here’s a blog post they did that explains everything you ever wanted to know about Turkish towels. We washed ours on a cold setting and hung them dry before using them.
We finally upgraded our plastic recycling bins to stainless steel to match our tiny trash can. Since they take up so much space in the kitchen, it feels like a good investment to have nice-looking ones. These are the exact style we have, and despite some bad reviews, we’re happy with them. As we mentioned, stainless dents and scratches easily, so if that bugs you, these probably aren’t for you.
This sweatshirt is so comfy! We’re 100% sure graphic tees are a thing again. Jordan is wearing a unisex medium, and be sure to check out the ProperTee Instagram page to see Julia’s highlights about fit and styling.
Maybe the most exciting proof of concept for our desire to bring beautiful, useful objects into our home is this cup. It’s super simple but does exactly what we need it to. We picked the medium size to fit comfortably in our medicine cabinet so we could still grab things out of it. (Also, Terrain is definitely an Anthro brand, confirmed.)
Our other Terrain find was this plant tray for the butt pot. Though it’s not exactly true to color, we’re still happy with it. This is also a medium to fit the size of the pot.
We already owned this candle, which is kind of confusing. After buying it on a day trip and really liking its non-food scent, we asked for another. Skeem has a bunch of scents, but we can only vouch for the mahogany myrrh, which is really pleasant.
If you also didn’t know there were rules to candle-burning, we learned about them on BuzzFeed. This time, we made sure to burn the candle long enough that all the wax on top melted, which prevents tunneling.
Donnie’s easy resolution this year is to frame the last of our unframed posters, even though this one isn’t a standard size.
