It’s finally happened: we recorded a terrible episode. So instead of airing something terrible, we’re airing only the outtakes.
Here’s a link to On Trails, the book about trails and a little bit about lawns that Donnie was talking about.
Please enjoy this YouTube video about whether it’s better to mow your lawn with a rotary mower (the gas-powered mower we’re used to) or a reel motor (the vintage mower Jordan thought was cool as a child).
Here’s a reminder of what our microwave looks like on the rolling cart, which we definitely wouldn’t use if we’d just put in brand new tile.
Old “reel” push lawn mowers were just harder to push because you had to power the spinning reel. There was a grass catching basket that attached behind so no raking was required. They were not quite as wide a gas powered ones so it took a few extra passes. As you consider the why or why not of lawns and outdoor gardens apply your “sustainable/renewable” sensibilities. Humans need plants to complete the oxygen cycle.
