Check out episode 74 to hear about how we hacked our Coco and Seed herb kits for the fire escape garden.
You can see what the herbs look like now on the bottom right of this pictures of the fire escape garden. If you’re interested in getting your own herb kit, either for inside or outside, check out Coco and Seed.
I wanted to replace some plants that had died as a result of our extended trip to Arizona, and I found the exact plants I wanted (plus a few more) at Plantsy. Be sure you check the plants you want because bigger plants are for local pickup in Atlanta only.
I made a journey out to Brooklyn to pick up my Natty Garden order. We mostly got soil, which has now basically been entirely used, but I also got these cute plants. They only deliver in Brooklyn, but if you’re in the area, definitely check them out.
Most of the soil I got in Brooklyn was for the very late season fire escape garden. For the details on our more seasonable attempt last year, check out episode 45.
The plantings in odd objects on the bottom left are a series of DIYs Donnie is trying out. Here are the instructions for the milk carton pot, tin can pot, and toilet paper roll seed starter.
I should have probably stopped buying plants at this point, but I couldn’t keep myself from buying this adorable prickly pear from 1991 Greenery. And since I was already there, I also got the variegated crassula.
We did an episode about our original lime tree, which is long since dead. After the death of our third lime tree, we decided to try our hand at an olive tree.
Because the tree is so big, we had to move the grow light over, which was an easy fix with an extra hook in the ceiling.
